Join us in beautiful downtown St. Paul

November 6-9, 2025

Welcome to 18North

Join us this November 6–9, 2025, for the first-ever 18North, a four-day celebration of community, connection, and long-form board gaming. Whether you're laying track for the first time or pitching your next 18XX design, there’s a seat at the table for you.

What to Expect

Why 18North?

There are plenty of great 18XX gatherings out there—but here’s why you’ll want to ride this one all the way to the brown trains:

  • Location. A unique space in the heart of St. Paul’s Union Depot—an actual rail hub—makes the perfect home for track-laying and train-running.

  • Robust Library. With 70+ titles and growing, our shelves are stacked and ready.

  • Inclusive Focus. Whether you're designing a new game or learning what "par price" means, you'll find your people here.

  • Vibes. Playful, welcoming, and delightfully hexagonal.

Plan your visit

  • The Venue

Union Depot isn’t just our venue—it’s part of the story. A restored 1920s Beaux-Arts train station turned modern multimodal hub, Union Depot sits at the heart of St. Paul’s Lowertown district and still hums with rail energy. Skylit ceilings, tall windows, and echoes of departures past make it the perfect place to lay track, run companies, and rust your last 2-train. For four days in November, the Gateway Conference Room becomes our home for play—surrounded by the architecture, history, and movement that mirror the games we love.

  • Where to stay

Plenty of overnight options, no layovers required. From nationally known hotels to locally run inns, downtown St. Paul offers a range of accommodations within walking distance of Union Depot. You’ll find modern comfort just a few blocks from the venue, with additional options a short drive or light rail ride away. Whether you’re booking solo or coordinating with a group, it’s easy to stay close to the action—and the trains.

  • What's around

Lowertown has everything you need between ORs. Step outside Union Depot and you’re in the heart of St. Paul’s most walkable, artsy, and food-forward neighborhood. Grab coffee from nearby cafés, refuel at local spots serving everything from ramen to rotisserie, or take a break with a stroll through the riverfront park. Need a post-game pint? There are breweries within blocks. Looking to pick up a title or replace a missing token? There’s a friendly local game store just down the street. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or scout your next game night pickup—Lowertown delivers.
